I have to admit, when Squishy was born I was a little hesitant about swaddling him. I thought he would be in a little bit of pain having his arms and legs tightly pressed to his body in the swaddle position, but I later realized that swaddling actually helps babies transition from the womb to the world. The benefits of swaddling, such as reducing incidence of SIDS and helping babies sleep better and longer, reassured me that swaddling was actually a good thing for babies! I swaddled Squishy for the first 3 months of his life, and I haven’t come across swaddle blankets as good as the Swaddle Designs line.
Squishy was really tall when he was born, so finding a swaddle blanket that was large enough to accustom to his length was a challenge for me. What I loved about the Swaddle Designs Swaddle Duo blankets right away was that they are very large and square and fit around Squishy perfectly when I used them. Other swaddle blankets that I’ve tried seemed too short in length, so his feet would always stick out. I’ve never had this problem with the Swaddle Designs Swaddle Duo blankets, and I love how generous these are when it comes to length.
The Swaddle Designs Swaddle Duo offers 2 blankets- Cotton Flannel for cool to moderate temperatures and Cotton Marquisette open weave for warmer climates. This combination allows parents to select the appropriate fabric to wrap baby without baby getting too hot or too cold. The Swaddle Designs Swaddle Duo blankets come in a variety of colors and prints- so you can choose just the right one for your baby. These blankets are lightweight and preshrunk so you don’t have to worry about them getting small in the wash. These blankets allow air to flow naturally in between them and reduce the risk of your baby overheating- even during the warmer months.
If you don’t know how to swaddle your baby, have no fear. Swaddle Design blankets feature a 123 Swaddle Tip Tage sewn to each blanket, which shows you the steps to take to swaddle your baby! It’s very easy to follow, so you will not have to worrying about forgetting the steps. I love this feature because I didn’t know how to swaddle a baby (being that Squishy is my first born) so the tag allowed me to remember how to swaddle him without worrying that I did it incorrectly. I also used these blankets as a sunshield over Squishy’s carseat when I took him out, for tummy time, and for privacy when I was breastfeeding. These blankets are very versatile and I’m sure you can use them in a variety of ways.
The Swaddle Designs Swaddle Duo blankets make such a perfect gift for new parents and are a must-have! You will be so impressed with these blankets you will go back for more.
