Cleaning isn’t a subject that I particularly enjoy talking about or a chore I enjoy doing. But thanks to some incredible tools, I don’t mind cleaning. Dyson has been a long-time favorite of mine and it’s one of the few brands I’ve never had a bad experience with. The Dyson Air Multiplyer Fan is a still a favorite and there’s no way I’d give up my DC 41 Animal Complete. That doesn’t mean I won’t give them a break for something new like the Dyson DC 44 Animalthat helps me tackle the small vacuuming jobs. This cordless vacuum will go all the places my full-size can’t and then some.
Dyson DC44 Animal Cordless Vacuum Review
Using the Dyson DC 44 is incredibly easy. This company has a knack for making user friendly products that exceed expectations. Personally, I find this particular vacuum best suited for hard floors and small messes. While you could certainly vacuum a whole carpeted room, the Dyson uprights are your better choice. I find myself using the DC 44 half a dozen times a day to vacuum stray dog food pieces, patches of fur left behind from the cats rolling on the carpet and all the crumbly messes my kids make.
The attachment tools are great for cleaning fabric furniture, vehicles and even the dusty ceiling vents.
Here’s a look at the docking station, attachments and the Dyson DC44 in use on carpet and hard flooring.
My first problem occurred when I was setting up the docking station. I noticed it requires two screws to be mounted on the wall. My unit did not include these. I don’t know if they are missing parts or if it’s just something Dyson doesn’t include. After a quick trip to the hardware store and 75 cents later, I had the two anchors and screws that I needed to mount the docking station.
I stumbled into problem number two when I started clipping the attachments into the docking station. There’s a clip for the cleaning wand and the bristle brush but I still had the small cleaning head with no home. Rather than continue to scratch my head in confusion, I reached out to the Dyson support team. On Dyson.com you’ll find a live chat feature available for immediate support which was extremely helpful.
“Joe” was polite and helpful in his response. As it turns out, there is no place to dock the small cleaning head attachment which honestly baffles me. A part like this will easily get lost in our home with no place to attach it to the docking station.
Overall, my experiences with the Dyson DC44 Animal have been satisfactory. During the winter break with the kids all home, I found myself using it several times a day with no issues. My piece of advice … if you decide to purchase the DC44, mount the docking station in a central part of your home because you just never know when and where you’re going to need it.
The Dyson DC 44 Animal includes the docking station, cleaning unit and 3 extra attachments.
